I’m a London-born-and-bound Indian girl. I have a curious mind and a zest for creative ideas, which may explain why I chose to become a Planner.

I actually studied creative ad at Uni to become an art director, but then realised it was Planning that had my heart and my brain. Eight months after graduating I finally landed my first role as a Planner at ais

Now I’m at VCCPme, working on customer communications and direct marketing for brands wanting to get up close and personal, which suits me perfectly because I’m always down for some one-to-one chitchat… wine or coffee, anyone?

Work life aside, I’m pretty restless so I like to keep myself busy. I’ve very recently started a blog: titled “chy.inspired” it’s about whatever piques my interest or motivates me in some way (the catch: it’s all done using lists! I am a Planner, after all…)

It’s also a way to explore my thoughts on topics that matter to me, like what it means to be a British Indian girl today, how brands are handling the changing conversations around gender, race and beauty, and why Beyoncé has been the epitome of female empowerment for me since I was 7 years old

Becca is a badass because she won't let anything get in her way when it comes to learning, developing and creating. She's an award-winning, multilingual, self-taught Copywriter. But she's not content with smashing just one solo skill - this year she studied Graphic Design at Shillington. Ever restless, Becca’s always nurturing a side hustle, and has been involved in two brilliant side projects this year. She was a lead editor and writer for 26's incredible Armistice 100 Days project in collaboration with Imperial War Museums. Her own piece is called Forgot My Socks. From trenches to terrors, this year she also collaborated with the Ministry of Stories to launch the Hoxton Monster Postal Service; a creative writing project where kids and kids-at-heart can write and receive a reply from a monster. Working with several other brilliant writers, she created monster characters, set their tones of voice and helped to train people how to write like a monster in horrorspondence workshops. Now, Becca makes words sing for brands as a Freelance Copywriter for Branding and Design, offering brand strategy, language strategy and a proper storytelling approach to copywriting. Her work is as imaginative, playful and vibrant as she is.

Sophy Vanner

#221 Sophy Vanner

Sophy is one of the most incredible, agile and dynamic strategists I have ever met. Whilst being powerful and knowledgable she is also highly emotionally intelligent and can hold her own, and deliver, in any situation. Having started off on the shop floor at Next - she quickly worked her way up through the system to being one of the youngest store managers in the history of the company. She then, against the odds, pitched to go to university without the required grades - winning a place and graduating with the best result in the year. She has been a fundamental player in advertising agencies such as Momentum Worldwide, Portas, Frukt and Amplify, and is currently leading the strategy on FitFlop, Chivas Brothers and Netflix - winning business left, right and centre!

She is also one of the most encouraging and empathetic managers who goes over and above to build and develop those around her - including Me. I would not be where I am today without Sophy's guidance and support - even when deadlines are tight and we are up against it with work.

Charlotte Willcocks

#202 Charlotte Willcocks

A good digital strategist has to be a lot of things – they have to be a strong analyst, a tech-wizard, an empathetic mind, and a resilient badass. Luckily, Charlotte is all these things and more.

She started her career at Holler in the social media team, helping brands like Mercedes-Benz and Revlon to establish their role in the freshly-booming land of Social Media.

The next few years where a whirr of great clients, as she climbed the career ladder (in some damn fine shoes – probably). She moved agencies, and changed roles – from social team, into digital strategy – working on great clients like Triumph Lingerie and Unilever.

It was at Mischief that she managed to do some career-defining work on everyone’s-favourite snack – Pot Noodle. Armed with a new social media strategy and tone of voice, the product transformed from a ‘lad brand’, into an empowering one. No easy feat...

Since then, giving brands a consumer-centric role on digital has become her main jam. As one of two strategists at Impero, she works closely with all teams to come up with insightful strategies and smart campaigns. In just a year, she’s created strategies for big brands like MoneySuperMarket, Campo Viejo and UGG – all with consumers at their heart. And, if that’s not enough, she’s also managed to tackle some pro-bono work for the charity Skatistan.

Charlotte’s more than a great strategist – she’s also a really interesting person. And a bit weird, to be honest. Obsessed with true crime and terrible music – she’s heading a “strategy networking emo pub quiz”. Which, albeit niche, sounds pretty great. She also aims to take more steps towards diversity in advertising, working with companies like Creative Equals to make sure that more women’s voices are heard.

So often, strategists go unseen in our industry – especially female ones – but great work only happens when there’s a strong plan to get there. And that’s exactly what Charlotte creates, an awesome solid foundation that helps everyone bloom. At work, and in life – she’s the kind of person that helps other people achieve their potential.

And that’s why this is only the beginning for her – while she’s already achieved so much, she’s got her ‘strategy-brain’ focused on making this industry better, and more healthy, for everyone involved.

Writer, stand-up comic, strategist, blogger, traveller, all around live-on-the-edge creative soul. Totally up for anything; fearless whilst still being humble and astonishingly unaware of how awesome she is. She will push herself to the limits and jumps into every job, and madcap opportunity with gusto and conviction. She is an inspiration and a total rockstar who never lets a set-back set her back, but uses it as the impetus to do things differently; try something new or learn from the experience. She really is awesome. Read her blog if you don't believe me!

Flo is a Planner at Iris London and has been an instrumental player in that agency for over two years. When I worked with her, she single handedly ran global creative accounts and planned some of the agencies most provocative campaigns. Working above her role and superseding expectation from everyone in both a professional and personal capacity, she's pretty badass.

Check out a few of the articles she's had published lately www.creativereview.co.uk/from-fake-news-to-fake-influencers
