Feed Me Female is the platform created by cousins Chloe and Hope who are on a mission to create unfiltered, entertaining and informative content around real topics that matter to women. They found that so much info was missing online for questions they had about life, work, relationships, health and more, so they created a page to discuss these topics and open them up to their community too.
Now they have an audience of over 10K and hold weekly debates with their community, covering all the real life sh*t you have to deal with as a woman in a relatable, humorous way. Their regular segment 'Fuck Off Fridays' is my favourite - a chance for their community to denounce anyone, thing, situation or behaviour that no longer serves you. Reading through these every Friday makes me feel like we're together in this thing called life.
They create everything you see on their page, from graphics to videos and are always looking to uplift and celebrate other women. Do give them a follow - they are amazing :)
Susie is a creative who works full time as a midweight art director by day and runs the Instagram account @trutherus by night. This is a passion project where she creates self-drawn artworks and comics raising awareness and supporting sufferers of Endometriosis all over the world - a condition she herself battles with on a daily basis. She also paints stunning, gigantic portraits of dogs - one of which currently hangs in the UK's first chihuahua cafe.
I nominated myself as a Badass girl because I put all my energy on a daily basis to live from my passion, art and conceptual design, and influence through that in a positive way people living and social change! Because I am not afraid of going for it and believe in each and everyone powers to make change and make it gracefully but furmly.
Zoe is amazing! She is an ICF accredited coach and podcast host, who helps some of London’s most pioneering female creatives, founders and business owners excel in their space by arming them with fundamental self-development techniques to help them reach their full potential - including some of the wonderful women on the Badass Gal site.
Zoe's mission is to fill the world with people knowing and loving themselves. She works to make coaching accessible for everyone and gives a large portion of time to creating initiatives that support this - including monthly collaborations with Woman to Woman, and Note to Self. She has also set up a coaching scheme called Coach Hood for young people that wouldn't usually have access to this kind of service.
Because her work never stops (!), she's recently been announced as a radio resident on Foundation FM Cut. Her show 'Cut the Bullsh*t' Zoe brings her vibrant and relatable no-nonsense approach to the female-fronted radio station, tackling her followers’ life issues, covering career goals and confidence blockers to toxic friendships, finding love and managing difficult family relationships.
Zoe is one of the great ones behind the scenes and it's about time she was recognised too!
Savannah founded the Photography Ethics Centre in 2017 with the ambitious aim of changing the way that the world takes and shares photographs. She identified a real-world problem, and independently developed a solution to address it. Now, she is having a significant impact in shaping dialogue and practice within photography through her work as a freelance educator, podcast host, writer, and speaker. In 2021, she was named one of the UK's 100 most inspirational female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain. Alongside her Photography Ethics Centre work, she is pursuing her PhD part-time in anthropology and she has her own creative practice as a photographer.
Gift is a queer neurodiverse creative who's too powerful for one job title. She runs a jewellery business called OKE London to celebrate her Urhobo heritage, works as a creative producer, dramaturg, and podcast creator at TeaTotal. Her practice is solidly founded in anti-racism. An advocate for Black women resting, she's here to create change in between (and via) naps.
Graduating at the start of a pandemic is more than unfortunate timing, but Josie didn't let this phase her. She hussled her way up from an English Degree at the University of Birmingham to landing her first job as a Creative Copywriter less than a year later. I have never met someone with such drive and determination, she's also been nominated for a Drum Chip Shop award for her campaign about disposable masks which I think is pretty badass. I can't wait to see where her career takes her!
Amy is one of the most talented and hardworking creatives in the industry. She writes, designs, edits, films, illustrates, and most importantly, gives a shit about the world. She’s a founding member of Pablo London’s D&I committee, along with being the agency’s head of placement.
She’s committed to doing work that makes a difference (along with being really good), she created a campaign for the Vagina Museum that raised nearly £20,000 to help the museum stay open during covid, with £0 budget. She made one of the most successful campaigns for Red Nose Day ever, raising over £52,000,000. And her campaign for organ donation for the NHS has led to a 52% increase in people talking about organ donation.
On top of all of this, she’s a bloody good person who treats the people around her with kindness and respect. Go Amy!
Lara Machado is a Brazilian designer, curator, social entrepreneur and activist. During her undergraduate, she won a scholarship called Science Without Borders to study abroad at Goldsmiths - University of London. Later on, she was awarded a Chevening scholarship from a pool of 50.000 applicants worldwide to pursue a masters in Curating Contemporary Design at Kingston University London, where she received a distinction and a Kingston Award Gold. Currently, she is the co-founder of Arca Fine Arts, a social enterprise that amplifies the voices of migrant women in vulnerability living in the Global South. Moreover, she works with design and strategy for Anãnaí Institute, an NGO that articulates resources to communities. She is also a UX designer working for a lab partnering with Lenovo. She has a line of feminist products being sold at the Vagina Museum in London and the collection was featured in two news articles in Brazil.
I'm the Head of PR and Events at a global market research company based in London, I'm in charge of the global strategy for those 2 activities while managing a regional team. On the side, I'm also the co-founder of The Spill - a UK-based online publication working exclusively with contributors from marginalised communities.
Managing a full-time job with a side hustle has its challenges but couldn't be more rewarding when you work for something you believe in.
