Since we met while we were both working as waitresses in Soho, she's founded (at least) two passion project companies, learned how to be a kick-arse photographer, begun an MSc course in Tech Entrepreneurship at UCL.
All the while holding down a full-time job and demonstrating a relentless ability to pick herself up when she takes a knock and do it all over again!
#241 Fiora MacPherson
Fiora MacPherson is a highly versatile Technology Strategist working at Digitas in London, creating digital products and experiences for a variety of clients, including Formula 1 and Sky. A true hybrid, Fiora is able to operate across multiple disciplines from technology to creative, not only gluing disparate teams together, but also providing a strategic product view with an instinctive sense of customer needs and associated business value.
As a technologist Fiora has a keen sense of the importance of technology trends, frequently acting as a herald for what’s on the horizon. This far-seeing eye, which provides valuable insight for colleagues and clients, is an integral part of the way Fiora thinks and contributes to a forward-thinking creative mind set.
Moreover, no matter how busy she gets, Fiora is always willing to help and encourage those around her, inspiring them to be the best versions of themselves and recognising that the collective trumps the individual. One example of this is her advocacy for equality, where her actions and positive attitude have helped to catalyse both perception and policy changes.
#217 Catherine Clarke-Drago
#127 Gracie Page
Gracie is a Creative Technologist and industry commentator whose thoughts have featured in Campaign, The Drum and Glamour magazine. She's also a general all-round badass who is far too modest to big herself up like this, so I'm nominating her. Here's why: After graduating with a 1st class honours degree in Molecular Biology from Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, she was made an associate member of the Royal Society of Biology. She then completed a post-grad in Technology Entrepreneurship at UCL where she graduated with a distinction. The bloody show-off. ...Before making the entirely logical and obvious choice to work in Content and Advertising. Gracie is currently a Creative Technologist at Y&R, where she uses her passion for new technology to make cool stuff and find exciting ways for brands to better communicate with their customers. If all those achievements didn't qualify her as a Badass, I should briefly mention she lived in Paris, speaks French and used to be a professional Ice Skater (that's right, an ice-skating scientist). So if she ever gets bored of being a strong female presence in the traditionally male-skewed world of tech in advertising, I guess there's always Dancing on Ice. If they do a Molecular Biologist edition. Anyway, don't just take my word for it, when she's not writing for the industry magazines, you can find her discussing how we can use technology to help not hinder our lives over at:
