Abbie Hughes

A machine when it comes to copywriting! Abbie is a versatile writer and a believer that long copy isn't dead! A 2020 graduate Abbie finished with a First Class Honours Degree in Creative Advertising from Leeds Arts University.

Abbie also loves a bit of strategy and research, starting all ideas with a concrete insight.

She had great success competing in School of Thought Leeds, doing quick turn around briefs for 12 weeks (including through lockdown)!

At the moment she's enjoying her placement with Atomic London, which she won at the end of university.

A good character to have in the office, any agency would benefit from having Abbie's work ethic.

Youmna Hazzaa

Youmna is an Egyptian hybrid creative who grew up all around the world. This has made her extremely empathetic, interested in all things new and different, as well as an extrovert who survives by being around people. (Seriously, don't leave her alone.)

Youmna is currently living in Edinburgh and continuing to survive '2020'. She graduated from her Master's in Creative Advertising, won 2 D&AD New Blood Pencils, won a Creative Conscious Award, and won Cream Collective 2020 all under the pandemic.

She's won her first pitch and got an advert on STV for Blood Cancer UK before even graduating - that says it all, doesn't it?
She's also been featured in Campaign Magazine and Ads of the World.

Aside from advertising, Youmna loves music, films, art, photography, interior design.. and singing in the car.

"Youmna is a crazy ball of energy that's always ahead of the game and thinking of the next big thing." - Elise, Creative at BBDO.

"Hard-working, exciting, up, and coming creative. Recent winner of two D&AD young blood pencils, although she never mentions it! Genuinely great fun to work with." - Neil Gilmartin, Head of Creative at STV.

Olivia Wedderburn

Liv is a badass gal and Social Director who heads up the Social and Influencer team at TMW Unlimited, co-chair's the DMA's Social Media Council and was one of Campaigns Star Players for 2020. In the last 6 months, she's been featured in The Drum twice, once on her article all around the Facebook Boycott, and then in the Strategy Issue talking about how Influencer Marketing has been effected by COVID-19. She also won highly commended Community Manager of the Year at last years Social Buzz Awards, so it's safe to say she's on an absolute role.

Liv absolutely loves looking out for her team at TMW and beyond, always helping people out in the industry with a smile on her face and a story tell, and there's few people out there with as much passion for social as her. On top of that, she's a total pleasure to be around, always bringing an awkward laugh to the briefing and a dirty joke to the pub.

Anayis is a fiercely dedicated and unique animator and the hardest working person I've ever met. Always ready to try new things and create quirky and emotional story driven work; she's set to start at the RCA this month in MA Narrative Animation. On top of helping support her family and creating personal work, Anayis is always looking for commissions and new ways to support her fellow animators, students and graduates. Over the last two years Anayis has established and maintained a community for Middlesex University Animation students past and present called MDX_SAGA, and has recently been in charge of organising and curating a screening of student work before every film at the Alexandra Palace drive-in by Rooftop Film Club. She has been continually generous, outgoing and kind towards her peers and contemporaries, and deserves much more recognition for the work she puts in for others.

Becky Holmes

Becky couldn’t wait until she’d graduated to begin her career in design, so she started it whilst she was at Uni. Setting up a small independent design practice called smokytoast with a friend during her placement year, she quickly gained a wide array of clients from the dating app Tinder, to a sustainability-conscious clothing company that sources materials from Italy. She never wants to focus on one part of design, and instead enjoys the entire process from concept creation to sourcing a supplier for window stickers. She likes to help any kind of business and prides herself on her ability to adapt to any industry be it food and drink start-ups or multi-national financial services.

More recently she has taken steps towards her dream of helping conserve nature, by beginning a degree in Wildlife Conservation. Alongside this degree she is passionate about keeping her design skills alive by working pro-bono for a selection of charities that need design help. Finally, she is also one of the founding Trustees of a grant-making charitable foundation set-up to fund worthwhile causes within Wildlife Conservation.

Robyn Walker

It is fate that brought Robyn into the world of design. When she was 17, her teacher took her to the side to tell her she shouldn’t study Psychology, she should instead use her incredible talent and undertake a degree in the design field. She then last minute changed her degree to Product Design, and spent 3 years acing both the mathematical and the artistic aspects of product design. During her placement year she worked in merchandising at L’Oreal and she was so successful that part way through her final year she was asked to work full-time as soon as she graduated.

Making the leap to London she worked in Visual Merchandising for a few years, until her artistic side got the better of her and she decided to quit and pursue a role where she could have more creative freedom and utilise her artistic skillset paired with her commercial mindset. She now works as the Senior Designer at Wunder2, where she manages her own Junior Designer and gets to lead the design of entire makeup ranges and re-brands. As well as this, in her spare time she enjoys painting and regularly receives commissions for anything from huge abstract canvases to small intricate drawings.

What’s better than a copywriter? A bilingual copywriter!

Vic is the, you guessed it, copywriter at Publicis Poke with her partner, Marta (aka BadassGirl #454).
While arriving in the advertising world by pure chance - a thrifty girl like her couldn’t say no to a scholarship to SCA - the rest is pure talent. By rest I of course mean landing her dream job right after portfolio school at Publicis Poke and once there getting nominated as Campaign’s Star Player 2020.

She’s not really bad, yes a bit of an ass, but most definitely a girl.

Still, she IS a Badass Gal.

Fatima Ansari

Fatima is best described in one word as a ‘go-getter’. Fatima picked up her love for creativity by propelling a minor start-up right into fame overnight with her genius marketing campaigns while she was still studying in a business school. Even the $0 media budget didn’t deter the success instead the virality of her campaigns posed her as the marketing rising star.

With just about three years of professional experience, Fatima is now is the youngest award-winning creative of Pakistan with over 60 international awards including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Spikes, Effie, and Dubai Lynx. She is the first one from Pakistan to win the title of Next Creative at D&AD this year along with being listed as one of the Superwomen of the industry by Pitch Fanzine.

Aiming to break the clutter in the Ad world, Fatima has worked on numerous pro-bono campaigns, most of which aim at elevating the status of women in the patriarchal society of Pakistan. Her work with UN Women; The Bridal Uniform, has ranked at #56 at the WARC rankings and received the Asian Prize for Strategy in it as well. Another one with UN Women, Stop Dowrymongering, received a Grand Prix for Good and Glass Spike at Spikes Asia – proving that even money could not stand as a hurdle between creating real impact at home and on global platforms.

Fatima has served as a jury member not only at local universities’ panel but at international festivals i.e. Mobius Awards, Muse Creative and PHNX by AD Forum and currently serving as the Young Stars jury at AD STARS. Her passion to get the maximum out of the given scenario has proven the notion that talent is not dependent on years.
