Abbi is awesome. Abbi was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare genetic bone condition also known as brittle bones. A founding member of the Cambridge Rare Disease Network while at studying at the University of Cambridge, Abbi has since moved to London, where she works as an Account Manager at AMV BBDO. While at AMV BBDO, she worked on Mars Confectionary's “Look on the Light Side of Disability" campaign for Maltesers during the 2016 Paralympics, featuring real disabled people in everyday life, including the first ever TV ad to run in British Sign Language without subtitles. In her spare time, Abbi enjoys writing and disability rights advocacy for charities Scope and the Brittle Bone Society, and last year made her stand-up debut on the BBC Ouch stage at Edinburgh Fringe.

Katia Philip

#250 Katia Philip

One of the edgiest souls we know, Katia has brought a new level of creative class to our agency for the past four years. She’s managed to navigate her way through countless campaigns, winning clients, solving problems and nurturing staff to follow in her footsteps.

Katia is creative down to her core, from her trainer collection to statement earrings and home chopped hair. She’s annoyingly effortless and never appears frazzled, even when she’s balancing several clients and hustling her own side projects.

While helping to build our agency from the ground up, she’s been putting some serious graft into developing her DJ skills and is now running her own monthly radio show, Otro Mundo and playing out at nights across London regularly. If that wasn’t enough, her free time is preferably spent painting some pretty impressive graffiti murals wherever she can find the space in London and around the World.

Katia is leaving Seed to take on the new challenge of Head of Marketing at Peckham Levels, which she’ll 100% boss and we’ll be there whenever she’ll let us. Katia is badass to her bones <3.

#206 Mel Heaney

Working as an Account Manager at LOVE. by day to hustling that side-hustle at night as one-half of Pretty Pricks; a flower, cacti and succulent business, killing it across the north’s market-stall, event and wedding scene.

After graduating from Staffordshire Uni with a degree in ceramics, Mel worked at Phones 4u running all of their social accounts before being promoted to handle all brand communications. It was at through Phones4u that Mel made connections with LOVE. who later requested she joins the multi-award-winning design and advertising agency in Manchester. At LOVE. this energetic and fun-loving soul handles some of the agency’s biggest accounts, from leading TV advertising campaigns to packaging design projects for some of the world’s most prestigious brands.

Mel got the idea to launch Pretty Pricks whilst honeymooning in California two years ago. Cacti and succulents were already a pretty big trend over there, yet Mel and her business babe Amy knew it hadn’t yet reached its full potential in the UK.
18-months later, after completing a part-time floristry course which she fitted around working full-time at LOVE. Pretty Pricks is now pretty in-demand from Northern brides wanting something a little bit different for their big day.
Mel’s delivery albeit at LOVE. or with Pretty Pricks, is faultless, making her a true badass.gal.

Making geek chic cool since 1993, Maisie has always managed to successfully balance education with socialising, achieving a Masters with Distinction from Leeds Uni and the Programme Prize at University of Manchester (ultimate geek). Epitomising that infamous work play equilibrium, her dedication to studying Marketing, PR and everything in between has paid off in her recent appointment as Marketing Manager at agency Toaster. So, all in all, what makes her Badass? Her sheer determination to succeed and continually learn, all whilst maintaining a healthy social network. Oh and she also rejected Justin Bieber from a nightclub once which is pretty damn cool.
