Laura is a playwright, screenwriter and copywriter (who also does a bit of acting when she has the time). She recently set up @PoemForEveryDay, a creative challenge she set herself to write a poem every day for a year (and maybe beyond).

Laura's writing focuses on female stories and exploring the ways women have been portrayed culturally and socially in the present and the past. Her first feature film, historical thriller LAPWING, is currently in post-production, featuring Hannah Douglas (Clownface) and Emmett J Scanlan (Peaky Blinders). Laura is Associate Playwright at Chapterhouse Theatre and the Petersfield Shakespeare Festival, a member of BAFTA Crew, and has worked, amongst others, with the Almeida Theatre, Hull Truck Theatre, the BBC, Middle Child Theatre, Silent Uproar and A Younger Theatre. She currently has two BFI Network short films in production and is under commission with East Riding Theatre, She Productions, Urban Apache Films, Inceptive Films and Seahorse Films.
