Irene Marco is a London based award-winning director. Born in Mexico City, Irene began her journey into the film world when she won a the competition “Te Doy Tres Por Mexico” with her first short film.
She was part of the ‘131 Students’ movement which inspired political change protests across the country. She arrived in England when she became the General secretary of the Model of United Nations iQUF at age 19. After gaining her BA and MA degree in Directing, she started her own Video Production company while producing and directing political content for Iranian channel Sat7 PARS. In 2018 she finished her refugee documentary ‘Birds Without Homeland’ which she shot undercover in Greek Refugee camps. Her experimental short ‘Never Ending’ was shot in Romania to create a pro-choice awareness for working women. Her goal is to continue to make culturally relevant and empowering films that allow the audience to extend their horizon.
