Leena is currently a Senior UX Designer at the BBC and also their Neurodiversity Lead for a creative initiative called CAPE (Creating A Positive Environment) The aim of CAPE is to promote the idea that differences in brain functioning, such as autism and dyslexia, are not disabilities, but natural variations and that differently-wired brains can help devise new design processes, drive innovation and find fresh perspectives.
Leena has Autism & ADHD but considers them her super powers. She is passionate about inclusion, raising awareness for Neurodiversity and promoting different thinking styles. She has also developed diversity training workshops, produced some creative short films and written various blogs for different online publications. Her goal is to remove barriers and inspire the young, talented creatives of tomorrow so they can fulfil their aspirations regardless of disability or impairment.
